Homestead Physical Therapy

What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?

Without a doubt, I would have to claim my Doctorate of Physical Therapy and passing the national boards as being my proud personal accomplishment. This was a lengthy 7 year commitment, but a worthwhile decision nonetheless. It has provided me with not only financial stability, but has given me the opportunity to help others on a day to day basis and become more engrained in the Laramie community.

What is your primary personal development goal/business goal for the next 5 years?

My biggest professional goal that I will not waiver from is owning my own physical therapy practice. This is something that I have desired since getting into this profession and would like to think it will happen in the next 5 years. Whether I make that time frame or not, I look forward to establishing myself in our community as a small business owner.

What is your biggest philanthropic achievement?

I have been a part of a number of projects and groups that have created philanthropic opportunities. Although monetary donations have not been a normal part of them for me, I have donated a significant amount of my time to help with fundraisers, food drives and/or creating opportunities for those less fortunate. Without fear for having the same response to two different questions, I would have to list the food pantry creation at Whiting High School through Leadership Laramie as my biggest achievement.

What action or event that you've been a part of, that you believe has made the biggest difference in Laramie? Or are you most proud of?

As being part of Leadership Laramie, I have been blessed to be a part of many activities that were for the benefit of our wonderful community. I am most proud of our establishment of a food pantry for the students of Whiting High School. Once we heard how many difficult situations these students find themselves in, we new that we had to make it happen. Through hard work, dedication and pure drive to see it through, my wonderful leadership colleagues and I were able to create the pantry and raise enough money to sustain it for 3 years. We are hopeful that this is something that can be continued for years to come.

What excites you most about the future of Laramie?

I believe that we have a fantastic group of leaders that strive to bring out the best potential in our town. Aside from the works of the city council, there are a number of groups that are always working to promote what Laramie has to offer. This includes: developing new ideas to make it more appealing to visitors, helping to promote new and growing privately owned businesses and creating a safe and interactive environment for our citizens, young and old. I see Laramie as being a rising community in the region thanks to these groups.

What do you think has helped make you successful in your endeavors?

I am confident that my drive to reach the goals that I have set for myself in my personal and professional life, has led me to where I am today. It is easy to lose focus on a goal with adversity or a change. To avoid that, I try to take a relentless approach on each of them until I achieve what I seek.

What advice would you give to other young professionals in Laramie?

Take advantage of what the community and the city have to offer. There are a number of groups such as Leadership Laramie, Laramie Young Professionals and Laramie Main Street Alliance, to name a few. These groups will not only help to get you engrained in the community but also to create great network possibilities as you grow in your profession.
