Nicole Hauser

Cathedral Home for Children

What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?

Hands down - my family. I was able to attend my oldest daughter's open house last week and on the first day of school they created a newspaper to share with others a little bit about themselves. My daughter listed me as her hero - which of course is sweet - but the reason being was that because I went and got my Master's degree and that I am a boss of an agency that helps kids. I am proud that my girls see that education, hard-work, assertiveness, and compassion pay off.

What is your primary personal development goal/business goal for the next 5 years?

I want to continue to ensure that our high risk youth and their families have what they need to be successful. I want to continue to be their voice and their champion.

What is your biggest philanthropic achievement?

I am proud to be able to be involved in our Laramie community, our Wyoming community, and our national community. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Rotarian and am currently serving on the Board of Directors. I have been on the Albany County Community Juvenile Services Advisory Board since it's inception. I am proud to be a Governor appointed member of the State Advisory Council on Juvenile Justice, currently serving as Vice-Chair. I also have the privilege to serve as president for the Wyoming Youth Services Association and I was just recently asked to be a member of the advisory council for the national Association of Children's Residential Centers.

What action or event that you've been a part of, that you believe has made the biggest difference in Laramie? Or are you most proud of?

I am unbelievably proud of the AMAZING work my staff at Cathedral Home for Children do day in and day out. The 180 employees put their heart and soul into the work they do with some of the most traumatized youth. We served 784 youth and their families in 2016. We have been a part of the Laramie community since 1910 and will continue to do what we can to make Laramie the very best place.

What excites you most about the future of Laramie?

Everything! Our vibrant community continues to grow. I value all the that University brings to Laramie and all of the opportunities we get to have because of the University - the arts, sports, the diversity.

What do you think has helped make you successful in your endeavors?

Being passionate. I believe whole heartedly in what I do.

What advice would you give to other young professionals in Laramie?

Get involved. Find a support network. Be open to all ideas. Always operate with integrity.
