What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?

I would have to say this would be a combination of small accomplishments that I have been privileged enough to be a part of in my time with Parks and Recreation. I have had the opportunity to serve many groups and individuals at the Laramie Ice & Event Center and Recreation Center which has helped me develop as a young professional. Some of my favorites would be the participation in the planning and execution of the 2017 and 2018 Wyoming Senior Games, Laramie's 150th Celebration Committee and overseeing the growth of the Laramie Ice & Event Center. In my career, I want to continue to grow as a Parks and Recreation Professional. I have learned that it takes a multitude of skills and experience to operate in this field and want to continue to hone those. I love serving Laramie and wouldn't want it any other way. Continuing to develop will allow me to better serve this community and foster growth in Parks and Recreation. Personally, I want to continue to grow as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. I currently operate as the Olympic Lifting Coach at CrossFit 7220. Being a part of that team has pushed me as a leader and has had great carryover into my professional career.

What is your primary personal development goal/business goal for the next 5 years?

What is your biggest philanthropic achievement?

From late 2017 through 2018, I had the opportunity to serve on Laramie's 150th Celebration Committee. In this role, I operated as the chair of the Finance Committee which oversaw the collection and distribution of donations to 150th events. As a committee, we held and supported multiple events throughout 2018 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the founding of Laramie. We hosted a kick-off event at the Wyoming Territorial Prison on May 4th, 2018, to start the celebration, which was free to the public and hosted several Albany County 4th and 5th graders as a field trip. We managed to raise just under $30,000 for all of the events through business and community member donations. The remaining funds were donated to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage in Wyoming to be held in 2019.

What action or event that you’ve been a part of do you believe has made the biggest difference in Laramie? Or, which action or event are you most proud of?

Being part of the 2017 and 2018 Wyoming Senior Games is currently my proudest moment. Having competitors travel to Laramie from all across the United States, including Canada and Mexico, and being thrilled with their experience was awesome! I was blown away by the over 400 competitors who showed how sport can bring us together. It inspired me to continue to serve our community members of all ages! I plan to be involved in future Wyoming Senior Games as they move on to the next community.

What excites you most about the future of Laramie?

I think the embrace of young professionals is what excites me most. In Laramie, there is a sense of pride in the new generation of working professionals. I am proud to be a part of a community that recognizes the need to involve the next generation of leaders in the development and growth of our community. I believe the progressive nature of Laramie lends to the growth of retail, service and recreation. Laramie is a fantastic place to be and I am proud to call it my home!

What do you think has helped make you successful in your endeavors?

I believe that effective leadership and mentors has helped me most with my endeavors. I started my professional career while I was still attending UW as a full-time student. I think this period helped me develop my time management skills and rely on the lessons that more experienced professionals could teach me. The lessons I learned have stuck with me and helped me to continue to expand my skills and knowledge. I especially appreciate the continued development I receive from my current leadership in Parks and Recreation and CrossFit 7220.

What advice would you give to other young professionals in Laramie?

I especially like the mantra of CrossFit 7220 to answer this question. Humble, Hungry and People Smart. I believe that the keys to being successful, in all areas of life, are found in being humble as a person, staying hungry and driven in your endeavors and having the people smarts to work well and connect with others. Other than that, have fun with whatever you set your sights on!
